Salesforce Systems Administrator

The Salesforce Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring that the Salesforce database directly supports the programmatic and organizational strategies of Share Our Strength. Working closely with the CRM Manager, the Salesforce Systems Administrator will oversee data hygiene, data updates, imports, basic configuration, and documentation for the Program Department’s Salesforce instance (Program CRM). The Systems Administrator will also assist with the integration of data from Share Our Strength’s datalake, websites, and other data sources.

This position is preferably based in Washington, D.C. (hybrid two days in the office); but could be fully remote for the right candidate living outside of the DC area 30 miles or more. The position offers a range of $81K-$95K. Exact compensation within the stated salary range may vary based on skills, experience, and internal equity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain data integrity of Salesforce through regular audits and ensure that Program CRM supports Share Our Strength’s programmatic and organizational goals; stay abreast of data integrity best practice processes, methods and technology tools.
  • Manage basic configuration updates, including adding and editing fields, changing page layouts, editing permissions (as needed), and setting email communications.
  • Work with the CRM Manager to maintain existing data transfer and import processes from outside sources into Salesforce, including Share Our Strength datalake, websites, CSV files, and other online platforms; troubleshoot data integration issues and communicate with appropriate parties and ensure data integration is restored.
  • Create and run queries, exports, and reports as requested by staff to support programmatic efforts.
  • Collaborate with Director, Enterprise Data Management and external consultants to create and maintain system documentation, including workflows, apex trigger flows, process flows, custom code, etc.
  • Manage data hygiene efforts, including assisting with online and offline database cleanup, including record merges.
  • Partner with colleagues to support Share Our Strength's work to be a diverse and inclusive organization, and ensure this value is embedded in the organization and throughout our work.
  • Proactively make recommendations and suggestions to the CRM Manager and Senior Director, Program Operations and Grants Strategy on system improvements and additional reporting recommendations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required, or equivalent professional and work experience, minimum 5 years relevant experience and at least 3 years’ experience with Salesforce.
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification required. Salesforce Advanced Administrator Certification preferred.
  • Highly organized with a successful track record initiating and managing multiple complex projects and priorities while managing workflow in a deadline-driven and service-focused environment.
  • Proactive and a self-starter with excellent problem-solving, outside-the-box thinking, and implementation skills. Especially important is the ability to experiment and iterate, while on the road to building sustainable products.
  • Proven strong technical communications skills and ability to synthesize technical information into clear messages for various audiences.
  • Creative, curious, intuitive, and resourceful; exceptional attention to detail.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills while working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including the ability to identify and work through challenges, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on multi-step, detail-oriented projects in a fluid environment.
  • MS Office proficiency.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Some night and weekend work may be required when servicing infrastructure to take advantage of periods of low utilization.
