The Associate Center for Best Practices supports our work to expand access to the federal Summer EBT/SUN Bucks program. The Associate plays an important role in coordinating across internal teams and external partners to support project management, meeting logistics, data collection, and communicating learnings and effective practices. The Associate reports to the Managing Director, Research, Policy, and Programs for day-to-day management and priority setting but supports a cross-department team working on Summer EBT.

This position is preferably based in Washington, D.C. (Hybrid- 2 days per week); but could be fully remote for the right candidate living outside of the DC area 30 miles or more. The position offers a range of $60k-$64k. Exact compensation within the stated salary range may vary based on skills, experience, internal equity, and geographical location.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage internal and external meetings, including scheduling, developing agendas and supporting materials, notetaking, and coordinating follow-up.
  • Develop external communications concerning No Kid Hungry Summer EBT activities, including but not limited to summer EBT state outreach and communication materials, newsletters, blogs, and website content.
  • Develop and produce materials for internal and external stakeholders, including briefings, presentations, progress updates, and meeting agendas.
  • Manage and maintain tracking of nationwide summer EBT program details to inform internal and external databases, deliverables, and resources.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of metrics, strategies, best practices, and program impact stories related to Summer EBT and support dissemination of findings.
  • Plan conference and webinar logistics, develop agendas, and coordinate with speakers and external vendors.
  • Provide administrative oversight as required. This may include scheduling, arranging travel, coordinating contract execution, and paying invoices.
  • Represent the Summer EBT team and Program department in interdepartmental meetings, internal projects, and cross-departmental meetings.
  • Partner with colleagues to support Share Our Strength's work to be a diverse and inclusive organization, and ensuring this value is embedded in the organization and throughout our work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred, but not required.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong written and oral communications experience.
  • Deadline-driven, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal and relationship management skills, including the ability to identify and work through challenges, underscored by emotional intelligence.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a (virtual and in-person) team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands on attention and to pivot easily when urgent situations arise.
  • Accustomed to working in a team culture focused on accountability, achieving goals, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Strong skills in MS Office suite, and experience with Zoom, Asana and Raisers Edge or similar CRM preferred.
  • Less than 10% travel
  • Demonstrated interest in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues.
