Fall 2025 Individual Giving Intern

The Individual Giving Intern will be responsible for advancing the mission of Share Our Strength, to end childhood hunger in America, by supporting a series of digital benchmarking projects that examine how peer nonprofit organizations engage, solicit and steward their donors. This work will help inform strategies across the Individual Giving portfolio.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting research on sector trends and best practices related to donor portals, donor-advised fund visibility, donation form design and user experience, and the digital presence of mid-level and monthly giving programs.
  • Synthesizing research findings to inform recommendations for improving digital fundraising strategies.
  • Collaborating with staff to evaluate how Share Our Strength’s practices compare to peer organizations.
  • Completing and presenting a capstone project covering their benchmarking work.
  • Other tasks and day-to-day duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College Junior or Senior;
  • Organized, self-motivated, and flexible;
  • Experience with research, benchmarking, or nonprofit work preferred;
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently;
  • Ability to work well with multiple and diverse groups of people;
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills required;
  • Excellent and proven research skills;
  • Interest in non-profits, fundraising, digital engagement, donor stewardship, marketing, or hunger and nutrition issues;
  • Available to work 20-30 hours per week;
  • Excellent computer skills, especially in Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
