Manager, Corporate Partnership Development

The Corporate Partnership Development Manager will be responsible for supporting and contributing to the efforts of the Corporate Partnership Development team with tasks and projects associated with Share Our Strength’s recruitment of new corporate partners.

This position is preferably based in Washington, D.C. (Hybrid- 2 days per week); but could be fully remote for the right candidate living outside of the DC area 30 miles or more. The position offers a range of $65k to $70k. Exact compensation within the stated salary range may vary based on skills, experience, internal equity, and geographical location.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Corporate Partnership Development

  • Contribute measurably to the Corporate Partnership Team’s annual revenue goal.
  • Provide dedicated support to Corporate Partnerships colleagues and help build partnerships with corporations in select business industries.
  • Manage aspects of the sales cycle for select targets, including research and identification of prospective targets, outreach and strategic cultivation, proposal development, negotiation or partnership terms, and drafting contracts.
  • Develop creative, customized marketing and promotional activation concepts, positioned to be in direct response to prospects’ stated business objectives such as philanthropic giving, employee engagement, increased traffic and/or sales volume, customer loyalty, and PR.
  • Strategize innovative methods to increase team effectiveness of prospect outreach, cultivation, and stewardship.
  • Continuously seek external examples of successful cause marketing and philanthropic campaigns to be integrated into new business presentations: disseminate resources to the Corporate Partnership team as appropriate, contributing to growing sophistication and increased domain knowledge.
  • Maintain and grow knowledge of the private sector through attendance of conferences and professional development events, adding valuable insights to prospect conversations.
  • Proactively work with Account Management team to support partner renewal and upsell strategies and contribute meaningfully to activation ideation, integrating creative and innovative concepts to meet partnership objectives.
  • Represent the Corporate Partnerships team on internal task forces as needed, working on cross-departmental projects.
  • Normal office work environment and up to 25% travel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field preferred but not required, plus at least 3-5 years of experience managing aspects of marketing programs and/or sponsorships from the corporate, agency, or non-profit partner perspective.
  • High proficiency MS Office products and experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Direct experience soliciting targeted funding by corporate partners, including but not limited to regranting programs, grant budgets and program reports or commensurate experience a plus.
  • Ability to work proactively in a fluid, dynamic office environment.
  • Emotional intelligence and strong orientation towards customer service (internally and externally).
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities while coordinating workflow in a deadline-driven and service-focused environment.
  • Must be proactive and a self-starter with excellent problem-solving and implementation skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills: ability to maintain strong professional relationships with a range of groups in-person, by phone, and electronically.
  • Excellent time and project management skills; attention to detail. The Associate will be required to meet multiple concurrent deadlines and organize time and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in an entrepreneurial environment. Many projects involve intradepartmental and interdepartmental communication.
  • Demonstrated interest in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues.
