Coordinator, Grants

The Grants Coordinator will be responsible for supporting daily operations of the Grants & Program CRM team including managing all Grants Help Desk communications, overseeing general upkeep of our customer relationship management (CRM) platform, executing grant award, payment and accountability processes, supporting impact analyses, and proactive troubleshooting. This individual has an integral role within Share Our Strength’s Program Department. This position requires a high-performing individual capable of supporting multiple priorities across a dynamic, collaborative team. The ideal candidate has outstanding interpersonal skills and is organized, proactive, and ambitious.

This position is preferably based in Washington, D.C. (Hybrid- 2 days per week); but could be fully remote for the right candidate living outside of the DC area 30 miles or more. The position offers a salary range of $55k to $58k. Exact compensation within the stated salary range may vary based on skills, experience, internal equity, and geographical location.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills in responsive and professional communications to external stakeholders, including management of Grants Help Desk and support for Grant Review Teams.
  • Administer grant application processes, including drafting Requests for Proposals, tracking and responding to incoming proposals, ensuring all proposals are complete, support joint review and approvals processes, and compliance tracking.
  • Draft, proofread, and send electronic grant agreement letters.
  • Communicate with grantees to complete paperwork for payment and work closely with Grants Managers and Finance Department to ensure accurate and timely payment processing.
  • Support data analysis to track impact, trends, and equity priorities that will inform future strategies.
  • Ensure full and effective utilization of Share Our Strength’s CRM platform, such as daily management and record keeping, maintaining data integrity among grant records, and assessing any issues, problems and implementing resolutions.
  • Support Grants & Program CRM Team as needed to meet annual goals, and other duties as assigned.
  • Partner with colleagues to support Share Our Strength's work to be a diverse and inclusive organization, and ensuring this value is embedded in the organization and throughout our work.
  • Less than 5% travel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred but not required, or equivalent professional and work experience.
  • MS Office suite proficiency; experience with Salesforce strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills, including the ability to identify and work through challenges, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on multi-step, detail-oriented projects in a fluid environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral), including integrity and discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly master and manage multi-step systems and processes, including strong project management skills.
  • Track record of professionalism in working effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively, meet multiple concurrent deadlines, and organize time and priorities through attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Interest (and preferably work experience) in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues.
