Since 1984, Share Our Strength® has led the fight against hunger and poverty by inspiring and organizing individuals and businesses to share their strengths. Today, through the No Kid Hungry campaign, Share Our Strength is ending childhood hunger in America by ensuring all children get the healthy food they need. No child should go hungry in America – we’re on our way to making that a reality and we want you to join us. We’re bold, creative, always open to new ideas, and 100% dedicated to our mission. If that sounds like you, we’d like you to consider becoming part of our team.
The Manager, Prospect Development, is responsible for delivering proactive and reactive donor research that strengthens Share Our Strength’s prospect pipeline and supports strategic fundraising growth. This role conducts relationship mapping, develops donor briefs and profiles, performs wealth screenings, and contributes to custom modeling that enables fundraisers to prioritize prospects and advance donor relationships.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Prospect Development, the Manager serves as an essential connective partner across Resource Development and Growth (RDG), working closely with frontline fundraisers, comprehensive campaign leadership, donor engagement and stewardship teams, development operations, and executive stakeholders. This role ensures that prospect intelligence is translated into clear, actionable insights that support cultivation strategies, campaign planning, executive outreach, and portfolio management. The Manager partners directly with gift officers to inform strategy throughout the donor lifecycle and plays a key role in maintaining a robust, well-qualified prospect pool across giving levels. By ensuring data accuracy, timely research delivery, and strong collaboration across teams, this role supports a cohesive donor journey—from identification and qualification through engagement and investment—and contributes to a best-in-class philanthropic experience for donors. The position works closely with senior leadership on prospect research of strategic value to the organization and supports data-driven decision-making that advances pipeline development and long-term fundraising outcomes.
This position is preferably based in Washington D.C.; but could be fully remote for the right candidate. The position offers a salary range of $71k-$79k. Exact compensation within the stated salary range may vary based on skills, experience, internal equity, and geographical location.
